Australia Quickly Commissions Upgraded Abrams MBTs

Australian DoD has announced the delivery of four M1 Abrams tanks in M1A2 SEP v3 standard to replace M1A1-standard ones.
The new Abrams tanks are replacing the donated M1A1 MBTs to Ukraine. Australia has ordered 75 M1A2 SEP v3 MBTs in total.

Australian Minister of Defence Industry Pat Conroy previously announced aid consisting of 49 M1A1 Abrams MBTs to Ukraine during a press conference in London.
M1A2 SEP v3 offers upgrades in fire control, M829A4 APFSDS-T ammunition, reactive armour packs, and provision for CROWS RCWS (12.7 mm or 7.62 mm).
Another significant effort of Australia to modernise its armoured vehicle fleet is the new IFV acquisition under the Land 400 Phase 3 programme. The Army is acquiring a ROK's AS-21 Redback IFV, based on the K21 IFV in service with the ROK Army and customised for Australia's needs. 129 units have been ordered.
