FEINDEF’25: EM&E Group Reveals its ODIN-I C-UAS System

During FEINDEF’25 defence exhibition, Spanish EM&E Group unveiled its truck-mounted ODIN-I C-UAS system, combining a 30x173 mm chain gun and an adaptable jammer.

EM&E Group’s ODIN-I combines the Sentinel 30 RCWS, a secondary EO/IR system, passive RF detection, and a jammer working in conjunction with passive sensors. The company stated to TurDef that ODIN-I was developed for a customer, but did not reveal the country. TurDef assumes that it might be Thailand, as it acquired the Sentinel 30 RCWS for its patrol boats.

The jammer can cover communication frequencies between 400 Hz and 6 GHz used for UAVs. It can limit the jamming to a narrower band after analysis of the threat to ensure other systems work without interference. Additionally, the jammer can limit its sector to 45 degrees or 90 degrees to increase range by optimising the output density.

The Sentinel 30 RCWS’s dual feed allows for the use of both airburst and conventional ammunition. The firing rate goes up to 500 RPM with conventional ammunition, while it is lower with airburst, thanks to a higher probability of hit.

Another important feature of ODIN-I is cooperative detection capability, where multiple units with passive RF detection can accurately track the target by sharing the distance and location data. The range against commercial antenna emissions is 14 km, while it is longer for military ones at 40 km.

It can be said that the system's mounting on an 8x8 truck has paved the way for detection methods beyond optical systems and small radars, and the large cabin space of a truck has allowed more extensive C4 capabilities.
