FNSS Savunma Sistemleri A.Ş. declared the move on its official social media pages. This marks the start of a new chapter in the company's long-term plan for development and transition.
Nail Kurt, who stepped down on 1 January, concludes an 18-year tenure as CEO and a total of 38 years within the Nurol Holding group. Having joined FNSS in the early 1990s through the Armoured Combat Vehicles Programme, Kurt played a central role in shaping the company’s modern identity. During his leadership, FNSS achieved multiple firsts, including the development and delivery of Türkiye’s first indigenously designed armoured vehicle programmes. Under his leadership, the firm grew its product line, boosted exports and research and development, and provided important land systems platforms to the Turkish Armed Forces and other friendly and allied nations.
With over 27 years of experience, Selim Baybaş who is a former top official in the financial, energy, heavy industry and automotive sectors, is the current top executive. Throughout his career, Baybas has taken up a number of top leadership positions, including posts at Daimler Chrysler, Sabancı Group, Inci Group, Doğan Group and Nurol Group. He was the head of Nurol Teknoloji between 2019 and 2025.
Mr Baybas led key strategic developments at Nurol Teknoloji including the establishment of Nurol Technology USA in 2023 and the acquisition of IndustrieKeramik Hochrhein, a German ceramics powder manufacturing company. The country has strengthened its production of ballistic ceramic armours with the help of these projects by integrating the different sectors involved.
