HİSAR 100 MLS Now a Part of KORKUT 130/35 Air Defence System

HİSAR 100 MLS Now a Part of KORKUT 130/35 Air Defence System TurDef

HİSAR 100 MLS launcher truck hit a high-speed target with the HİSAR-A air defence missile, with integration into the KORKUT 130/35 air defence system.

As a new capability for the KORKUT 130/35 towed air defence system, HİSAR 100 MLS launcher truck struck a high-speed target UAV with the HİSAR-A missile.

HİSAR 100 MLS, normally used as a part of the HİSAR O medium altitude air defence system, has been integrated with the KORKUT 130 FCS fire control system. KORKUT 130 FCS is the commanding and sensory asset of the KORKUT 130/35 towed low altitude air defence system, which normally utilises modernised 35 mm towed anti-aircraft guns with ATOM 35 ABM airburst rounds. In addition to commanding function, KORKUT 130 FCS acts as the main sensor for modernised towed guns with the KALKAN 200-G (MAR) searching radar and AKREP 100-G fire control radar.

HİSAR-A Low Altitude Air Defence Missile

As the first in the HİSAR line, HİSAR-A was developed by ROKETSAN as a low-altitude air defence missile. Incorporating a dual pulse rocket motor and an IIR seeker, HİSAR-A can reach a range of 15+ km and an altitude of 10 km.

The missile is available for two platforms: HİSAR A 150 mobile low altitude air defence system and HİSAR 100 MLS launcher truck. The former is the autonomous configuration for HİSAR-A missiles based on the ACV AD tracked vehicle, incorporating four launch canisters, KALKAN 200-G radar, and an EO/IR system.

KORKUT 130/35 Towed Air Defence System

KORKUT 130/35 is a wide-scale modernisation of the existing Oerlikon GDF 35 mm towed anti-aircraft guns with modern fire control systems, ATOM 35 ABM, and KORKUT 130 FCS fire control system.

While the main effectors are towed guns, the system can also use HİSAR-A air defence missile with the integration of HİSAR 100 MLS.

GÖKDEMİR on Hold?

ASELSAN and TÜBİTAK SAGE’s jointly developed GÖKDEMİR launcher, as a supporting pillar that can join batteries upon need, was unveiled during IDEF2023. The air defence system mounted on a 8x8 truck is fitted with an eight-round launcher for GÖKDOĞAN missiles, mainly developed as BVRAAM, and its own loading crane.

Interestingly, as of 2025, not much of an update has been given on GÖKDEMİR, and the system has not been included in ASELSAN’s presentations for Steel Dome IADS.

This hints at the possibility of GÖKDEMİR, despite its higher capacity compared to HİSAR FFS launcher, being put on hold for the time being. It might be because there is an urgent need for the production of indigenous BVRAAMs to be fitted on F-16s and future combat aircraft like KAAN and KIZILELMA. In short, logistics might have affected the state of GÖKDEMİR despite the potential it holds as a support to the Steel Dome.

The current concept for HİSAR 100 MLS is not so apart from GÖKDEMİR as a support to low and medium altitude air defence, as it can now be used within both HİSAR O batteries (HİSAR O IIR and RF missiles) and KORKUT batteries (HİSAR A missiles), depending on needs.
