Otokar is displaying the new configuration of Cobra II 4x4 MRAP with a manually operated turret fitted with two semi-independent 12.7 mm machine guns.
The rather unique configuration was developed in response to demand from a customer. The machine guns can be elevated together or independently.
When TurDef inquired regarding the design of the turret, the officials stated that the purpose is to be able to engage targets at different heights quicker and with less effort. To explain further, the gunner would have to make azimuthal and elevation adjustments for a conventional turret case, but with another gun already elevated, only azimuthal adjustment is needed.
Both weapons can still be aimed coaxially to provide more firepower.
Cobra II MRAP
Cobra II MRAP is a development of the Cobra II 4x4 tactical wheeled vehicle with additional mine and IED protection for MRAP requirements. This variant is taller and heavier compared to the baseline Cobra II and incorporates additional bottom-side protection against the aforementioned threats.
