KamAZ Instates Military Vehicle Factory in Senegal

Russian KamAZ has opened a production plant for military trucks and MRAPs in Senegal to increase its production capacity.
Senegalese Foreign Minister Yassine Fall and Russian Minister of Foreign Affairs Sergei Lavrov announced the cooperation. The plant will provide an industrial base for the African country, while Russia will increase its presence in Africa, both economically and politically.
Despite its losses in Ukraine regularly calling in for replacements, Russia is continuing to export its armoured vehicles to African countries, which provide financial support to manufacturing activities for its own needs. Some of the customers include Egypt, Uganda, and Kenya.
KamAZ is known for its military trucks used for logistics and weapons carriage (MLRS, SPH...). In addition to trucks, the company has added the Typhoon family of MRAPs, consisting of 4x4, 6x6, and 8x8 variants. While the 4x4 is highly reminiscent of a generic Western MRAP, the other two can be described as trucks emphasizing personnel/supplies transport with enhanced protection.
