M2 Bradley IFV Launches the New “670” Missile in Exercise TurDef

During an Army exercise in March 2025, M2 Bradley tracked IFV launched the brand new missile designated “670” from its standard TOW anti-tank missile launcher.

No statement has been released regarding the missile’s intended role from official sources, but judging from the fact that it is launched from TOW pods and the proportions, it is for sure that anti-armour is among the areas of use.

The layout of the missile consists of three grid fins on the tail with no front or midsection fins. Thrust vectoring is likely also used to ensure stability and manoeuvrability.

Another important detail is the absence of a fibre-optic wire found on most BGM-71 TOW missiles. This means that the missile could be using an optical seeker (TV, IIR...) with man-in-the-loop control.

Another legacy ground missile that the U.S. Army intends to replace is the FIM-92 Stinger MANPADS. NGSRI is being developed to have greater kinematic performance and a more capable seeker compared to the current FIM-92 variants in use.
