Marines Award $79 Million Contract for ACV-R Test Vehicles

Iveco Defence Vehicles/BAE Systems obtains a $79 million contract from the U.S. Marine Corps to manufacture and deliver ACV-R test vehicles. Iveco Defence Vehicles/BAE Systems has received a $79 million contract from the U.S. Marine Corps to produce and deploy production representative test vehicles (PRTVs) for the Amphibious Combat Vehicle Recovery (ACV-R) variant in the upcoming months. The contract award signifies the initiation of the second phase of the ACV-R programme, which will accelerate the production of PRTVs to facilitate government testing in the upcoming year. The prior contract was primarily concerned with the design and development of the recovery variant. This objective was successfully achieved within the stated 20-month timeframe. The ACV-R is equipped with a winch and crane, enabling it to perform vehicular rescues of vehicles weighing more than 30 tonnes. BAE Systems and its strategic partner Iveco Defence Vehicles are now manufacturing the ACV Personnel (ACV-P) and ACV Command and Control (ACV-C) variants at a high production rate. On January 31, the Marine Corps received the first three ACV 30mm cannon (ACV-30) version Protected Response Tactical Vehicles (PRTVs) for testing. The company is actively enhancing the integration of future technologies in ACV to optimise Marine preparedness. Additionally, it works closely with the Marine Corps to ensure that all ACV mission variants are adequately prepared for future deployments.
