Netherlands Orders Skyranger 30 Hybrid Air Defence Systems TurDef Skyranger 30 mounted on ACSV for Netherlands

Rheinmetall announced an order for Skyranger 30 hybrid air defence systems from the Netherlands in two configurations, to be delivered between 2028 and 2029.

Rheinmetall announced the order worth’ three-digit million in Euros’ and consisting of ‘two-digit’ number of Skyranger 30 gun/missile hybrid air defence systems in two configurations: mobile and fixed.

The mobile configuration for the Netherlands will be mounted on the ACSV tracked armoured vehicle, which is also used as the chassis for Kongsberg's NOMADS short-range air defence system.

Denmark and Hungary are the other export customers for Skyranger 30, but the systems will be mounted on different platforms. Denmark will use Skyranger 30 on GDELS Piranha 8x8 AFV, while Hungary has preferred KF41 Lynx.

Skyranger 30’s loadout consists of a Rheinmetall KCE 30x173 mm revolver cannon capable of firing 30 mm AHEAD airburst rounds similar to 35 mm AHEAD but with smaller and more pellets at a higher rate of 1200 RPM. The launcher for short-range missiles can fire MANPADS-class missiles (Two or four missiles) or the compact SADM anti-drone missile, which Germany plans to acquire soon (Nine missiles).

The sensors include four small AESA radars distributed on the turret from Hendsolt, a fire control radar/EO system, and optional electronic warfare system(s).
