The images, shared by social media user John MMR, feature the NMS 4x4 with a "Kenderaan Sedang Diuji" sign at the back, indicating that it is a test vehicle.
The development follows the agreement signed on March 30, 2022, between Nurol Makina and Nadicorp (Badanbas) for the NMS 4X4 supply. The signing ceremony took place during the Defence Services Asia expo held in Malaysia, with the participation of Celal Sami Tüfekçi, then Acting Vice President of the Defence Industry Agency (SSB). Engin Aykol, General Manager of Nurol Makina, signed the agreement.
Malaysia initiated the search for New Tactical Wheeled Armoured Vehicles due to the ageing of MALBATT 850 Condors used within the UN Peacekeeping Force. The delivery of the procured NMSs by Malaysia is anticipated to be completed by 2024.
