Otokar Aims to Increase its Presence in Asia-Pacific

Turkish land systems manufacturer Otokar continues to showcase its products and capabilities in the defence industry in different parts of the world. Otokar will exhibit ARMA 6x6 and COBRA II vehicles at the DSA 2022 fair, held in Kuala Lumpur, the capital of Malaysia, between March 28-31.

Indicating that Otokar is a global player in the defence industry, Otokar General Manager Serdar Görgüç said, "We have allocated approximately eight per cent of our turnover to R&D activities in the last ten years. Our vehicles actively serve in different geographies, challenging climatic conditions and risky regions. We reflect on the experiences we have gained in different regions in our vehicle development efforts. Otokar vehicles are already successfully serving in the Asia-Pacific region. We aim to increase our presence here. We closely follow further cooperation and export opportunities in the region."

Pointing out that Otokar is currently one of the land systems suppliers of NATO and the United Nations, Görgüç said, "Our military vehicles are included in the inventory of 55 users in more than 35 friendly and allied countries around the world, including the Turkish army and security forces. We compete with major global players in the international arena. In addition to product supply, our R&D and technology transfer capabilities in land vehicles also stand out.”

The independent suspension system enhanced with Run Flat Tires, built-in Central Tyres Inflation System (CTIS) and Anti-locking Brake System (ABS) improves ground mobility and ride comfort even over the roughest terrain. The vehicle’s mobility is further improved withlongitudinal and transverse differential locks and the high power to weight ratio coupled with high ground clearance and approach/departure angles.

ARMA is designed to meet specific requirements of various customers in modern combat, peacekeeping and humanitarian relief operations.ARMA is available in various types of mission configurations such as Infantry Fighting Vehicle, Armored Personnel Carrier, Command Post, Ambulance, CBRN Reconnaissance, Driver Training, and Reconnaissance.

COBRA II

COBRA II 4x4 Tactical Wheeled Armoured Vehicle is a modular platform. Besides outstanding mobility, COBRA II provides ballistic and mine protection, increased payload capacity and internal volume. The vehicle comes with protection against ballistic, mine and IED threats. COBRA II is optionally available with an amphibious version.
