According to the Secretary of Defence Industries, the Turkish defence business Repkon will transfer its 155mm artillery ammunition production capacity to Germany. Germany is aggressively trying to boost its ammunition manufacture and inventories in response to growing defence needs, military assistance to Ukraine, and NATO obligations.
One of Germany's main objectives in its partnerships with big military corporations is to boost the manufacture of 155 mm artillery ammunition. With its sophisticated skills, Turkish defence company Repkon has become a major ally for nations trying to increase their 155mm artillery ammunition output capability.
Previously, Repkon inked deals establishing American, Pakistani, and Azerbaijani weapons manufacturing plants. Germany has recently added to this list, reinforcing Repkon's worldwide leadership in artillery ammunition manufacturing technologies.
The turnkey production plant, set to start running in early 2027, will boost Germany's 155mm artillery ammunition output. It will also produce traditional ammo and fill current, high-explosive next-generation rounds.
Germany wants to increase its domestic production capability and guarantee a safe supply of 155mm artillery ammunition through these expenditures. Additionally, a sizable purchase order for 155mm artillery shells is included in the deal signing, therefore supporting Germany's strategic initiatives to increase her ammunition supplies.
