ROKETSAN and Australian EOS have signed a strategic cooperation deal on the joint development and marketing of laser weapons during the WDS2026 exhibition.
ROKETSAN and Australia’s EOS have joined hands at WDS2026 for the joint development of laser weapons, which are viewed as among the low-cost solutions against UAV threats.
Both ROKETSAN and EOS are actively developing high-power laser weapon systems.
ROKETSAN has developed the ALKA laser weapon as a combined solution against UAVs with an adjustable power laser, jammer, optic sensors and a radar. ALKA, with a range up to 2.2 km at 10 kW power, can be mounted on fixed positions, truck pallets, and, as a recent alternative, armoured vehicles.
On the other hand, EOS has developed the Apollo laser weapon as a similarly mobile solution. The laser with an adjustable power between 50 kW and 150 kW can reach a range of three kilometres for hard-kill. Apollo, due to its higher power, is currently available on 20 ft ISO containers.
It is understood that the cooperation might cover the incorporation of both laser weapons’ strengths in future developments. Examples for these strengths can be given as ALKA having with EOS’ Apollo having a high power rating)
