Roketsan is Preparing Versions of the TAYFUN Ballistic Missile

Roketsan General Manager Murat İkinci assesed Roketsan's works to Anadolu News Agency on the occasion of the centenary of the Republic of Turkiye. İkinci said, “The TAYFUN missile will not consist of a single product; it will have variants. It will continue its path as a strategic weapon system that will serve our armed forces as a product family with its warhead diversity and capability diversity in its warheads. Mass production of TAYFUN continues. In the following stages, the TAYFUN project will continue its life not as a finished product but as a system that will meet the needs of our armed forces at the highest level in the future, with its variants and new capabilities.”

Stating that another significant project on the 100th anniversary of the Republic is the long-range air defence system SİPER, İkinci said, “SİPER is our strategic level air defence system. SİPER Air Defence System, which constitutes the top layer of our layered air defence system that continues with SUNGUR, HİSAR-A and HİSAR-O, is being implemented in partnership with TÜBİTAK SAGE, ASELSAN and Roketsan. This year, SİPER will be delivered to our armed forces, and we will demonstrate the greatest air defence capability of the Republic of Turkiye in the field. SİPER will meet our country’s dire need as an air defence system that can intercept targets over 100 kilometres. All elements, especially our Air Force, are critical for our country’s security. We will protect it as a layered structure with SİPER, HİSAR and SUNGUR family. In the next stages, these systems will continue with new capabilities within their life cycle. It is precious that SİPER continues to exist as a system that has entered the inventory for using the armed forces in the field in the 100th year.”

Evaluating the position the company has reached in 35 years, İkinci said, “Roketsan is making a serious effort in both capacity and international marketing and sales opportunities. We see the results of this effort. Roketsan increases its exports significantly every year. Our latest studies show that Roketsan currently generates approximately 35 per cent of its export income. This is a good rate, but it is not enough for us. We aim to rapidly increase both our exports and business potential in the future and to be among the 50 most important defence industry companies in the world by competing with and beating our competitors worldwide. It is our greatest asset to be able to say this in the 100th year of our Republic, to become a rival to the big companies in the world and to walk confidently into the future in this regard.”
