HİDROAN has unveiled the AZMAN optionally-manned 6x6 UGV for rough terrain conditions.
HİDROAN developed the UGV to perform combat duties on rough terrain, where most armoured vehicles are likely to struggle. Thanks to its highly flexible wheel layout, the UGV maintains mobility on such terrain.
HİDROAN's expertise in hydraulic systems, gained from projects like ALKA, ROKETSAN's MLRS platform, and ASELSAN's GÖKSUR PDMS, has played a big part in the development of the 6x6 UGV.
TurDef has learned that the UGV has been tested before the SAHA EXPO 2024 exhibition in Nurol facilities.
The AZMAN UGV can be converted into a manned combat vehicle by integrating a control cockpit inside. This provision is supported by a window structure, which is unusual for UGVs of this class.
HİDROAN is currently evaluating weapon options for the UGV, but an emphasis is placed on a turret armed with ATGMs and a machine gun. Additionally, the vehicle has a mast-mounted EO/IR system for hull-down observation and targeting.
With its size, AZMAN is the fourth heavy UGV to be developed in Turkiye, following Shadow Warrior of FNSS, ZMA-X of ASELSAN, and ALPAR of Otokar.
