Saudia Arabia Acquires TOW Missiles

The U.S. State Department has approved a potential Foreign Military Sale to Saudi Arabia for TOW 2A and TOW 2B missiles, valued at an estimated $440 million.

The Defence Security Cooperation Agency (DSCA) has submitted the required certification to Congress, notifying them of the proposed sale.

Saudi Arabia seeks to acquire 507 TOW 2A missiles (BGM-71E-4B-RF) and 507 TOW 2B missiles (BGM-71F-3-RF). Both missile types are tube-launched, optically tracked, and wireless-guided (RF) systems.
The primary contractor for this sale will be RTX Corporation, based in Tucson, AZ.

The TOW weapon system family provides a long-range, heavy-assault capability suitable for precision anti-armour, anti-fortification, and anti-amphibious landing operations. The TOW 2A, TOW 2B, and TOW Bunker Buster variants are compatible with all TOW system launchers.
