ASELSAN has shared the image of the new SERHAT DUAL (STR 400-G) in service with the Turkish Armed Forces on a-Bülten October 2024 issue.
The photo has a fixed configuration, but the radar can be mounted on 4x4 vehicles when the need for mobility arises.
STR 400-G's entry into service marks a new capability with the radar's added UAV detection and tracking capabilities. STR 400-G is an upgraded version of the original SERHAT (STR 300-G) radar to expand the detection capabilities towards UAVs, unveiled in IDEF'23.
STR 400-G, with its more comprehensive detection capabilities, is also planned to be used as the main detection radar for the C-RAM version of the KORKUT 35 mm gun air defence system, as seen in ASELSAN's early presentation for Çelik Kubbe (Steel Dome / Formerly Skydome) integrated air defence system.
ASELSAN is also developing what can be described as a spiritual successor to the STR 400-G as AURA 200-G AESA radar, which will be able to track air/surface-to-surface missiles and low-flying aircraft in addition to longer range.
ASELSAN's other weapon-locating radars or radars with said capability are long-range STR 700-G (SURALP) and ALP 100-G multi-purpose radar.
