Turkish Secretariat of Defence Industries (SSB) awarded New Generation Armoured Vehicles (NGAV) orders to FNSS for Turkish Land Forces (TLF). The order includes serial production of 6x6 and 8x8 New Generation PARS ALPHA Armoured Vehicle configurations for the TLF Mechanised Armoured Units. In the program’s first phase, FNSS will deliver PARS ALPHA 8x8 Anti-Armour Squad and Armoured Recovery variants. In the scope of the program, FNSS will also produce 6x6 variants. PARS ALPHA 6x6 command post variants will be configured with advanced mission equipment.
FNSS PARS ALPHA 8x8 prototype successfully emerged from an intensive competition environment. The program was awarded after comprehensive field tests by SSB and Turkish MOD.
“With this new vehicle, we have combined 35 years of knowledge, user experience and engineering to create the latest generation vehicle in its class,” said the Deputy Chairman of the FNSS Board of Directors, Oğuz Çarmıklı. “We rightfully earned our place with superior success from field tests carried out by SSB. And finally, we have reached the stage of launching the New Generation Vehicles Program, in which we will produce PARS ALPHA vehicles for our Land Forces.”
The total number of vehicles for this initial order will be 25 vehicles. TLF plans to acquire over 2000 vehicles with additional orders, and the number of PARS ALPHA vehicles is expected to expand over time.
