Supacat and Moog Polish the ASRAAM Launcher Truck Concept TurDef

Supacat and Moog displayed a new iteration of the ASRAAM platform based on the former’s HMT ACC 6x6, this time with the FMP launcher instead of a fixed erector.

Supacat and Moog have displayed a new and more polished configuration of the ASRAAM truck, which was combat-proven in Ukraine during the Supacat/KNDS Capability Day event.

Previously, the UK delivered Supacat HMT ACC 6x6 light trucks fitted with erector launchers to use AIM-132 ASRAAM WVRAAMs as short-range air defence missiles to Ukraine. The first iteration, while providing high mobility and simplicity, had limited ready-to-fire rounds at two missiles per vehicle, and the missiles could not be pointed towards the target before launch.

AIM-132 ASRAAM is the main WVRAAM of the Royal Air Force Eurofighter Typhoons with tail control, IIR seeker, and a range of 15 km for surface launch.

The new configuration, named Raven 5, is more polished in layout with Moog’s FMP launcher turret that can carry up to four AIM-132 ASRAAMs. While this specific case has AIM-132 ASRAAM integration, FMP can be fitted with other types of missiles such as FIM-92 Stinger (Quad launcher), Javelin ATGM, and Hydra 70/APKWS rockets.
