U.S. Army Awards BAE Systems M777 Howitzer Production

The BAE Systems signed an Undefined Contract Action (UCA), which allows the company to begin program deliveries whilst finalizing contract details and its total value with the customer.

BAE Systems will work with its U.K. and U.S. supply chain to produce the M777's main titanium structures. The first structures are expected to be delivered next year. With This new contract, the company will restart the M777 production in the U.K. The BAE Systems M777 offers rapid reaction capability and proven quality that delivers decisive firepower in sustained combat conditions. With more than 1,250 M777s in service with ground forces in the United States, Ukraine, the Americas, Australia and India, the M777 is the only combat-proven lightweight 155mm howitzer globally. The MV-22 Osprey, CH-53E Super Stallion and CH-47 Chinook may carry the howitzer on the sling.
