U.S. Provides emergency FMS HIMARS to Ukraine

Ukraine, funded by Germany, acquires three HIMARS under emergency Foreign Military Sale for an estimated cost of $30 million. The State Department has approved a possible emergency Foreign Military Sale (FMS) to Ukraine of M142 High Mobility Artillery Rocket Systems (HIMARS) for an estimated cost of $30 million. The Defence Security Cooperation Agency delivered the required certification, notifying Congress of this possible sale. Ukraine has requested the purchase of three High Mobility Artillery Rocket Systems (HIMARS). The estimated total cost is $30 million, which Germany will fund on Ukraine's behalf. The Secretary of State has determined and provided detailed justification that an emergency requires immediate sale to Ukraine. U.S. will provide the HIMARS U.S. Army inventory.
