The US Defense Security Cooperation Agency (DSCA) has announced a possible Foreign Military Sale (FMS) to Denmark for AGM-114R Hellfire missiles, with an estimated value of $45 million.
In its notice dated 8 January 2026, DSCA said it delivered the required certification to Congress regarding Denmark’s request.
The package includes a request for up to 100 AGM-114R Hellfire missiles, alongside associated items such as captive air test missiles, M299 launchers, and additional support and handling equipment. DSCA noted that the broader deal scope also covers training aids, containers, software, publications, spare parts, transportation, logistics support, and US Government and contractor services.
The proposed purchase was probably meant to improve Denmark's capacity to launch helicopter strikes from the sea. The MH-60R Seahawk is commonly mentioned as a good platform for integrating Hellfire missiles.
It's interesting that the news came out at the same time as the "Greenland" issue.
It's interesting when the sales announcement was made. When US President Donald Trump brought up Denmark's Greenland issue again in US politics.
