BAMEX 2026 is organized to bring together the decision makers shaping the current and future security architecture of the African continent, with particular emphasis on the Sahel region, and companies offering field deployable, testable, and sustainable defense solutions.

Held under the patronage of the Presidency of Mali, BAMEX goes beyond a conventional exhibition. It is a high intensity defense platform designed to engage directly with decision making processes, enable technical evaluation, and generate tangible outcomes. Its invitation and participation structure is highly selective. The event hosts high level delegations composed of presidential offices, prime ministries, ministries of defense, general staff structures, procurement authorities, and technical evaluation units.

The five day BAMEX 2026 program will conclude with a dedicated Demo Day module during the final two days. In this segment, systems are tested under simulated operational conditions in real field environments under the technical observation of official delegations. Delegations are not merely observers. They are active stakeholders who ask questions, conduct assessments, and engage directly when necessary.

Africa’s security dynamics, particularly in the Sahel, involve vast geographical areas, desert and semi‑desert conditions, the need for mobile operations, asymmetric threat structures, and complex logistical parameters. Taking into account the defense transformation processes of 54 African countries, BAMEX places sustainable, scalable, and locally adaptable solutions at the center of its framework.

Participation is based on quality rather than quantity. The objective is not only to showcase products, but to present real solutions capable of integrating into Africa’s defense architecture. In its inaugural year, BAMEX hosted high level delegations from approximately 40 countries, primarily across Africa. In its second year, it aims to further increase the number of participating delegations.
