Presidency of Defence Industries (SSB) announced that the serial production of Fast Patrol Boats (FPB) started. Ares Shipyard will produce 122 FPB for the Turkish Coast Guard Command and General Directorate of Security. The company calls the boat 35 FBP.
SSB stated that the boats would be used to fight against illegal immigration,smuggling as well assearch and rescue operations. “We aim to have security operations more effective,” SSB said.
ARES Shipyard will produce six boats per month. The shipyard underlines that this is an unmatched serial production capacity. The company has completed its inner tests before handling the boat to the end-user. The end-user tested the boat all over the Turkish Seas. It also performed various crash tests for operational uses.
