According to the Turkish Exporters Assembly (TIM) data, the Turkish defence and aviation sector reached $876 million in exports in May 2024.
Secretary of Defence Industries, Professor Haluk Görgün, announced the export record on social media: “Our Defence and Aviation Industry exports were $876 Million as of May. This figure was recorded as the largest export figure in a month in our sector’s history.
Our exports in the first five months increased by nine per cent compared to last year’s period, reaching $2.215 Billion.
With our record-breaking high-tech exports, we are achieving sustainable growth in our sector and increasing our country’s value-added export rate with our export figure per kilogram of over $65.”
