French ArianeGroup, expanding its portfolio of ballistic munitions, has unveiled the FLP-T 150 guided artillery rocket as its submission for France’s bid.
Following MBDA’s unveiling of Thundart in response to France’s requirement for an extended-range guided artillery rocket, ArianeGroup, known for the M51 SLBM and cooperating with Thales, unveiled its own submission, FLP-T 150.
ArianeGroup stated that FLP-T 150’s flight tests will begin in the first half of 2026.
Looking to extend the reach of M270 MLRS using the GMLRS rockets supplied by the US, France has launched an initiative to develop a new guided artillery rocket that is compatible but reaches almost twice the range at 150+ km, similar to ER GMLRS recently introduced by the US. In addition to longer range, ITAR-free components is another critical requirement.
Another recent unveiling from ArianeGroup is the MBT medium-range ballistic missile (MRBM) with what appears to be a manoeuvrable re-entry vehicle (MaRV) with a range of 1000+ km.
