The Turkish Defence Ministry announced that Kirpi II 4X4 Mine Resistant Ambush Protected (MRAP)s are received to the Turkish Armed Forces after acceptance inspections were completed.

Turkish Defence Ministry held a regular press briefing at Aksaz Naval Base in Muğla just before the Mavi Vatan 2025 ( Blue Homeland 2025) exercise observatory day kicks off. The briefing was held at the TCG Salihreis (F-246) frigate. Defence Ministry Press adviser Admiral Zeki Aktürk stated that the Turkish Armed Forces received BMC’s Kirpi II 4X4 MRAPs and delivered them to the Turkish Armed Forces after acceptance inspections were completed. Aktürk underlined that the vehicles run with indigenously made Turkish Tuna engines. Tuna is a 400 HP diesel engine development project of BMC POWER.

The Kirpi II has a Remote-Controlled Weapon Station armed with a 12,7 mm M2HB Machine Gun. The vehicle provides self-defence for proximity combat scenarios with a 7,62 mm Machine Gun and 40 mm MK19 Auto-Grenade Launcher.
The vehicle can reach a maximum speed of 100 km/h.
