The U.S. State Department has approved a potential $8.5 billion Foreign Military Sale to Denmark, covering the acquisition of Integrated Battle Command System (IBCS) enabled Patriot air and missile defence systems. The Defense Security Cooperation Agency has formally notified Congress of the deal.
Under the request, Denmark seeks 36 PATRIOT MIM-104E GEM-T missiles, 30 PAC-3 MSE missiles, two AN/MPQ-65 radar sets, two Engagement Control Stations, six M903A2 launchers, multiple IBCS components including software kits, operations centres and IFCN relays, as well as power plants, training systems, and communications equipment. The package also includes spare parts, publications, technical documentation, logistics, and field support.
The main contractors will be RTX Corporation, Lockheed Martin, and Northrop Grumman.
