Turkish Aerospace Industries (TUSAS) announced that two T129 Atak assault helicopters are delivered to the General Directorate of Police and Turkish armed forces. There are more than 50 T-129 helicopters in the inventory of the army. Turkish police received its first T129 helicopter.
President of Defence Industries Professor İsmail Demir stated that Atak has a Laser warning system and equipped with electronic warfare systems.
TUSAS has stated that T129s are at the second phase, and their domestic production rate is increased at this phase. No detailed information was provided.
Minister of Interior Süleyman Soylu published a photo of the helicopter. According to the photo, the helicopter has three barrel 20 mm Gatling and it might be possible to fire some rockets as it has a payload.
