PT Pindad will present the Harimau (Tiger) medium tank production variant to the public at the International Indo Defence 2022. Indonesia acquired 18 tanks jointly developed with the Turkish Defence Company FNSS and Indonesian Pt Pindad.
This first serial production involves the participation of PT Pindad engineers and personnel from end users, namely the Indonesian Army. Furthermore, the remaining eight will be produced at PT Pindad"s factory facility in Kiaracondong, Bandung.
The Harimau is equipped with a turret made by CMI, Belgium with a Cockerill cannon of 105 mm HP ( high pressure ) as the main weapon. The secondary weapon is a coaxial 7.62 mm machine gun. The tank, which weighs in the 32-35 tonne range, is powered by a 711 hp Caterpillar C13 diesel engine and is equipped with five Allison/Caterpillar X300 automatic transmissions.
