Greece Secures its F-35 Lightning II Jets

Greece has completed its application procedure for 20 F-35 Lightning II aircraft by signing a LOA through a Foreign Military Sale. Lockheed Martin has confirmed that the Greek government has officially expressed its intention to purchase 20 F-35A Lightning II aircraft. This intention was finalised by signing a Letter of Offer and Acceptance as part of a Foreign Military Sale conducted by the U.S. government.

The Letter of Agreement (LOA) also provides the possibility of acquiring 20 further aircraft. Greece will become the 19th country to participate in the F-35 program, according to Air Force Lt. Gen. Mike Schmidt, who serves as the director and program executive officer of the F-35 Joint Program Office.
