ASELSAN unveiled the KORKUT 140/35 SPAAG with KALKAN 050-G AESA radars and KANGAL FPV jammers at its outdoor exhibition area during the IDEF25 exhibition.
The new variant of KORKUT mounted on an 8x8 vehicle introduces four fixed AESA radars for an expanded detection envelope and KANGAL jammers to perform soft-kill against UAVs as a secondary effector to the twin 35 mm revolver cannons firing ATOM airburst ammunition.
TurDef learned that KALKAN 050-G AESA radar and KANGAL FPV jammer are the new systems placed on KORKUT 140/35 to improve the performance in both detection and effect against UAVs.
KALKAN 050-G can detect UAV (micro/mini/tactical/UCAV), fighter, helicopter, and secondarily ground targets and work in conjunction with the AKREP 100-G fire control radar present on the KORKUT SPAAG family.
The new version of KORKUT can be summarised as an adaptation against the rising threat of field-level UAV proliferation.
