ASELSAN [BIST:ASELS] has completed the qualification work on the RF jammer and RWR as the critical parts of the FEWS self-protection suite for localised F-16 ÖZGÜR fighters.
ASELSAN stated in its 2025 activity report that it has qualified the ARIA-A 220 RF jammer and ARK-A 300 radar warning receiver (RWR) for F-16 ÖZGÜR modernisation’s second phase.
FEWS is ASELSAN’s line of fighter self-protection/electronic warfare suite being developed for manned and unmanned fighter programmes. FEWS also includes the SÜMER central control unit, KARTACA-A decoy dispenser, and GİZEM LPI communication antennas.
Different variants of FEWS will be available to F-16 ÖZGÜR, KAAN, KIZILELMA, and possibly ANKA-III.
FEWS-U for unmanned platforms was recently tested onboard Baykar’s KIZILELMA fighter, which also serves as important data for integration on ANKA-III or other future unmanned combat aircraft.
F-16 ÖZGÜR and KAAN are expected to have more potent versions of FEWS-U thanks to the higher power feed from the engines by default.

Alongside FEWS, F-16 ÖZGÜR’s next phase includes the MURAD 100-A GaN AESA radar, replacing the legacy APG-68(V)9 pulse-doppler radars with higher power output, jamming resistance, a wider array of modes, and higher resolution. Alongside detection capabilities, MURAD 100-A will greatly contribute to the offensive jamming capabilities of the aircraft as well, thanks to its output and flexible beamforming. The radar has been integrated on F-16 ÖZGÜR, AKINCI UCAV, and KIZILELMA unmanned fighters.
