Baykar announced the completion of a training flight on KIZILELMA’s unmanned fighter’s first production aircraft, S1, shortly after its maiden flight.
An important stage for KIZILELMA’s introduction to the Turkish Air Force has begun with the first announced training flight with the serial production aircraft. About two weeks ago, the first serial unit with the tail number S1 completed its maiden flight.
Baykar aims to deliver two unmanned fighters to the Turkish Air Force in early 2026, as previously stated.
KIZILELMA as the First in Its Class to Score BVR Kill
Towards the end of 2025, KIZILELMA completed many important tests with its key equipment, such as weaponry, MURAD 100-A AESA radar, TOYGUN EOTS, and KARAT IRST.
However, the test at the forefront can be given as the firing test with GÖKDOĞAN BVRAAM and MURAD 100-A AESA radar, which has made KIZILELMA the first to score a hit on a beyond visual range target using its onboard systems.
What is Next for KIZILELMA
Aside from the procurement and training activities, KIZILELMA is still maturing with a vast array of additions and improvements on the horizon.
Some of the near-future developments for KIZILELMA can be given as internal weapon bays capability and MURAD 200-A AESA radar with lowered probability of intercept.
Additionally, Baykar is known to have R&D projects for chaff/flare dispensers and an air-to-air refuelling system.
