An MQ-9A Reaper UAV belonging to the U.S. made an emergency landing on Monday near Mirosławiec, in Poland. Russia is accused of signal interference.
The General Command of the Polish Armed Forces reported that the MQ-9A landed in a safe and uninhabited area. The Command stated that the UAV lost communication while conducting a quarterly training exercise. General Waldemar Skrzypczak said the emergency landing was caused by signal interference. “We are aware that Russia is carrying out operations in the West Pomeranian and southern Baltic regions, jamming all possible signals,” he told Radio RMF24.
It is known that the MQ-9A UAV can switch to autonomous guidance and land itself at a location previously indicated by the operator when the connection is lost.
