Otokar will have achieved a milestone with the first factory in Europe for Romania’s large-scale order for 1059 Cobra II 4x4 tactical wheeled armoured vehicles.
In his interview with Anadolu Ajansı, Otokar CEO İbrahim Aykut Özüner stated that the first batch of 278 Cobra II vehicles will be produced in Turkiye, with the rest to be produced in the factory to be established in Romania. This will be the first Otokar factory in Europe. The factory can open new possibilities through an industrial settlement in the region coupled with the recent sale of ARMA 6x6 APCs to Estonia.

The deal for 1059 Cobra II vehicles worth $1.005 billion includes nine configurations, including the basic version, anti-tank, and utility. The volume of the sale makes this one of the largest land vehicle exports in the Turkish defence industry.
Cobra II is the backbone of Otokar’s line of 4x4 vehicles with various configurations. The vehicle has a gross weight of 14 tonnes with a capacity for nine personnel in transit, excluding the crew.
