According to Polish sources, OTOKAR's TULPAR will compete for new tracked armoured vehicles in the Polish Army's tender.
The Turkish-tracked competitors of AFV are the German Lynx and Republic of Korea’s AS-21 Redback. Poland will mount its ZSSW-30 turret on the platform it chooses. The turret is armed with a Mk44 Bushmaster 30 mm chain gun, a UKM-2000C 7.62 mm co-axial machine gun, and two SPIKE-LR ATGMs.
Like other modern IFV turrets, the ZSSW-30 features an independent commander's electro-optics. Otokar TULPAR has been fitted with various weapon systems, including MIZRAK-30 30 mm, Cockerill 3105 105 mm, and Hitfact MkII 120 mm turrets.
Otokar has also demonstrated its ability to integrate non-NATO turrets on its platforms with the Rabdan 8x8 IFV using the Russian BMP-3's turret. TULPAR is a multipurpose platform that can be tailored to meet current and future operational requirements.
Its turbocharged diesel engine and automatic transmission provide power ranging from 700 hp to 1100 hp. TULPAR has an open architecture that can be fitted with manned or unmanned weapon systems ranging from 7,62 mm to 120 mm.
Turkiye has previously exported Bayraktar TB2 armed UAVs to Poland alongside its MAM-L and MAM-C munitions. More recently, a delegation from the Polish MoD visited ASELSAN, TUSAŞ, Baykar and Otokar.
The 28-person delegation included Paweł Bejda, Secretary of State and Head of the National Security Bureau from the Ministry of National Defence of Poland, and Marcin Kulasek, Secretary of State from the Ministry of State Assets of Poland.
