ROKETSAN has shared a fourth promotional video for the unveilings to take place at SAHA EXPO 2026 defence exhibition, hinting at a low-cost stand-off munition.
ROKETSAN described the fourth new munition for SAHA EXPO 2026 in the teaser with the words “A cost-effective solution to evolving operational needs!”
The optically guided munition is seen to have folding wings and a datalink antenna at the tail. Interestingly, the rear end is closed either by default or with a fairing.
If the munition is powered, there is a possibility of ROKETSAN having developed something of similar mindset as RAACM and Rusty Dagger low-cost cruise missiles developed by the US.
High-end cruise missiles, while considerably survivable thanks to flight path and low RCS, are also costly and mostly heavy. A new type of cruise missiles with a smaller size and simpler layout, but identical range, has recently taken the spotlight in light of recent conflicts which have shown that the production rate can hardly keep up with the firing rate.
On the other hand, if the munition is unpowered, the munition might be something to present new capabilities to ROKETSAN's glide munition porfolio including MAM family, winged TEBER-82 laser guidance kit, and LAÇİN IIR guidance kit. One of these capabilities could be a more efficient profile for glide to extend the range, compared to MAM-T or GPB kits. JSOW is an example as a 1000 lb glide munition (Same weight as a Mk-83 GPB) that has a longer range compared to most GPBs with glide kits thanks to highly streamlined body reducing drag.
