At the ceremony for the opening of the new facilities to expand the production and R&D capacity, ROKETSAN unveiled a large-sized ballistic missile on a trailer.
ROKETSAN has opened three new facilities with the attendance of the Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan at the ceremony: Kırıkkale Fuel Production Plant, Lalahan Warhead Plant, and Next-Generation Technologies/R&D Centre.
A new large-sized ballistic missile going beyond the allowance of a single 8x8 truck was unveiled during ROKETSAN’s major opening ceremony. In terms of size, the difference in length and especially diameter is clearly seen in the photos shared by ROKETSAN.
The new missile’s launcher, shown alongside the TAYFUN SRBM launchers, is a trailer towed by a DERMAN 8x8 truck from Koluman. DERMAN is also seen to be used for TAYFUN ballistic missiles and ATMACA-UM (KARA ATMACA) land attack cruise missile as the platform.
ROKETSAN is known to be working on two large ballistic missile projects, CENK and TAYFUN Block 4.
CENK and TAYFUN Block 4 as ROKETSAN’s Heavy Hitters
CENK was unveiled as a large ballistic missile also carried by a truck+trailer configuration. The first appearances of CENK also hint at the use of a manoeuvrable re-entry vehicle (MaRV) that can contribute to accuracy and the evasion of enemy interceptors, based on the observation of a set of fins at the front. No official data is available on the missile.
TAYFUN Block 4 is a missile that is significantly larger than even the extended TAYFUN Block 3, unveiled during IDEF2025. The missile with a diameter of 938 mm, a length of 10 m and a mass of 7.2 tonnes is expected to reach even longer ranges with a larger payload that potentially includes penetration. Additionally, ROKETSAN CEO Murat İkinci has placed extra emphasis on hypersonic speed that implies a modified trajectory at midcourse.
