Royal Navy Shows Unmanned Capabilities in REPMUS 2024

Royal Navy has displayed its various USV and UAV capabilities in REPMUS 2024 wargames held in Portugal.

The official statement from the Royal Navy regarding its participation in NATO's REPMUS 2024 includes unmanned systems and the XV Patrick Blackett testbed ship.

More than 200 UK personnel from the Royal Navy, Ministry of Deunmfence and the industry are taking part in the event.

The USVs include an armed Pacific 24 RHIB boat converted with an autonomous drive kit.

While not exactly a USV due to being partially manned with a crew of five, XV Patric Blackett holds an important place as a testbed for autonomous naval systems. The Dutch Damen built the vessel, which can carry more than two TEU containers for test purposes.

In the exercise, UAVs took part, from small quadcopters to the Camcopter S-100, which are in widespread service throughout Europe.
