The US President, Donald Trump, stated in a press conference with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan that CAATSA sanctions are likely to be lifted soon.

Donald Trump has signalled the lifting of CAATSA sanctions on Türkiye in a joint press conference with the Turkish President, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, on the first day of the Ankara NATO Summit, as reported by Anadolu Agency News.

When inquired about the lifting of CAATSA sanctions on Türkiye, Trump stated that the sanctions are likely to be lifted soon.

Additionally, Turkish President Erdoğan provided updates on the subjects of F-35 delivery and F110-GE-129 engines for the KAAN fighters' initial production.

On the F-35, Erdoğan stated that a promise has been made for five of the fighters to be delivered, and he believes there will be a good outcome on this subject from the NATO summit.

On the other hand, Erdoğan stated that F110-GE-129 turbofan engines for KAAN fighters will be discussed during the summit, and the approval for the export is anticipated. The turbofan engines also used by the F-16 fighters will be KAAN's initial production engine until the TEI/TRMOTOR TF35000 turbofan engine to provide supercruise and reinforce low observability is ready.
