Turkish Defence Ministry announced that the Army had received anti-tank missiles and Armoured Combat Vehicles.
Turkish Defence Ministry spokesperson Admiral Zeki Aktürk stated at a weekly press briefing that “Land Forces Command has completed the inspection and acceptance activities of various quantities of "Long Range Anti-Tank Missile" and Armoured Combat Vehicles equipped with NEFER turret.
Aktürk has not specified names. Roketsan is the only long-range anti-tank missile provider. The company’s missiles are called UMTAS. There are variations of UMTAS according to the guidance used.
On the other hand, the Aktürk stated that some Armoured Combat Vehicles (ACV) with Nefer unmannedturrets were delivered to the Land Forces Command.
This delivery is a result of the Armoured Combat Vehicle (ACV) Modernization Project signed on 31 December 2019 between the Defence Industry Agency (SSB) and ASELSAN. The project included equipping ACVs with 25 mm NEFER Gun Turrets, Laser Warning Systems, Close Range Surveillance Systems, Driver Vision Systems, Direction Finding and Navigation Systems, Commander, Gunner, Personnel and Driver Display Panels. FNSS was the subcontractor responsible for maintaining and repairing ACV platforms, including integrating air conditioning systems, heating systems, fire extinguishing, and explosion suppression subsystems. The armour and mine protection levels are also increased.
