President of Defence Industries (SSB) Professor İsmail Demir spoke at the opening of the 4th Defence Industry Meetings organised in cooperation with the Istanbul Chamber of Industry and SAHA Istanbul. Demir announced the 2021 turnover, order amount and R&D expenditure figures of the defence industry sector for the first time. He also noted that pre-pandemic figures were reached.

Demir announced new target in exports: to exceed 4 billion USD
President of Defence Industries (SSB) Professor İsmail Demir said, “We aim to reach over 4 billion dollars by working together. We will see this leap gradually.” Demir delivered a speech at the Defence and Aerospace Industry Exporters’ Association (SSI) Ordinary General Assembly for 2021. He said that SSI had been one of the most important stakeholders of the Defence industry ecosystem since its founding.
