AeroVironment secures USD 18 million contract to supply kamikaze drones to Ukraine
The US Army has contracted California-based drone manufacturer AeroVironment to supply additional roaming munitions to Ukraine.
The award, announced by the Department of Defence (DoD) on May 6, 2022, covers the production of suicide drone hardware called Switchblades.
The deal, which is a modification of the previous contract, is worth nearly $18 million and includes work at the company"s facilities in Simi Valley, California, with an estimated completion date of May 4, 2023.
