Bayraktar TB3 marine UCAV fired the KEMANKEŞ 1 jet-powered loitering munition, where the munition with a live warhead dived into the target on the ground.
The first announced firing test of KEMANKEŞ 1 from Bayraktar TB3 is a milestone considering the fact that KEMANKEŞ 1 will be among the stand-off options of the marine UCAV.
KEMANKEŞ 1’s range of 100+ km makes it the longest ranged munition available to Bayraktar TB3. Additionally, the gimbal seeker allows for a remote ISR capability thanks to the data link sending feed to the operator. KEMANKEŞ 1’s stand-off range can be considered ideal for attacking sensitive and critical targets like radars, especially in support of amphibious operations from the TCG Anadolu LHD (L400).
Bayraktar TB3’s flight tests from TCG Anadolu are ongoing with more than 100 takeoff/landing tests, where the UCAV has demonstrated its short landing capabilities without the use of arresting gear.
Throughout the munition testing campaign, the UCAV dropped MAM-L and MAM-T glide munitions and fired the UAV-122 aeroballistic missile in different conditions. A MAM-L test was performed with a takeoff from TCG Anadolu, while two UAV-122 tests were performed at operational and low altitudes.
