Bulgaria has begun production of the indigenously designed and developed SAMJET cruise munition. Bulgaria's Samel-90 has announced the start of mass production of the domestically designed and developed SAMJET cruise munition. The loiter munition drone of the next generation possesses autonomous take-off capability and is supported by rocket booster engines, enabling it to achieve high speeds during flight.
The front-facing camera, equipped with three-axis stabilisation, may be manipulated to move and zoom to detect targets and offer visual confirmation to the operator for better visualisation of the target during the ultimate assault. Its maximum speed is 250 kilometres per hour, but the typical flight speed is 120 kilometres per hour.
The UAV's location is indicated on the map in real time during the flight, and a photograph is captured using the onboard camera. It incorporates a 5kg thermobaric warhead, and its maximum range is over 100km. In addition to offensive missions, SAMJET can be used for intelligence gathering, surveillance, and reconnaissance.
