CENTCOM: USAF F-15Es Crashed in Kuwait From Friendly Fire TurDef

Three USAF F-15E Strike Eagle fighters crashed in Kuwait during the US operation on Iran due to friendly fire, according to a statement from CENTCOM.

Shortly after the video of an F-15E going down with visible fire on the airframe, US CENTCOM issued a statement attributing the crash to a friendly fire incident.

The statement included that the friendly fire apparently came from Kuwaiti air defence systems. However, there was no statement regarding which air defence system was involved.

Kuwait is operating the MIM-104 Patriot long-range air defence system, MIM-23 I-Hawk, and Spada 2000 (Aspide missiles) medium-range systems. The incident points to multiple ways, such as IFF fault or communication issues.
