TEI CEO Mahmut F. Akşit stated during an interview that the TF6000 turbofan engine will be delivered to TUSAŞ and Baykar for pre-integration tests in 2027.
TEI CEO Akşit gave an important update regarding the company’s first turbofan engine, TF6000, which is set to take over as the long-term production engine for ANKA-III stealth UCAV and KIZILELMA unmanned fighter.
In his interview with TRHaber, Akşit stated that TEI plans to deliver the engine prototypes to TUSAŞ and Baykar in early 2027. The two firms will put the engines through pre-integration tests to verify airworthiness before the first integration.
TF6000 is a low-bypass turbofan engine, rated at 6000 lbf of thrust. TEI is developing the TF10000 variant in tandem as the afterburning variant that can put out 10000 lbf of thrust with afterburner.
Beyond unmanned combat aircraft use, TEI is envisioning TF6000’s core to pave the way for future turboshaft engines, gas turbine engines for ships, and turbine generators.
