F-35 experiences F-135 Engine delivery delays

GOA states that F-35 Lightning II experiences delays in the delivery of F135 engines, which endangers the delivery of this aircraft according to the schedule. The United States Government Accountability Office (GAO) reported this on May 16 2024. It stated that the engines delivered in 2023, made by Pratt & Whitney, were delivered late. GAO actively monitors and reports on the F-35 program's progress and issues. Since 2001, the GAO has undertaken yearly programme evaluations to offer oversight to Congress and the public. The F-35 program is now entering Block 4 modernisation as a $1.8 billion Technology Refresh 3 (TR-3) upgrade. In line with these efforts, Pratt & Whitney, the F-35 engine maker, has strengthened monitoring and oversight and committed $100 million to improve the engine's manufacturing process.
