New version of ROKETSAN’s PUSU weapon system for pickup trucks has made its first appearance at the parade for the IDEF25 defence exhibition’s first day.
The new configuration of PUSU has an overhauled sensor package and new armament options, allowing different missions to be performed on a low-cost platform.
The new configuration of PUSU can now use OMTAS anti-tank missiles and SUNGUR air defence missiles in addition to four CİRİT missiles.
The most important change in the sensor package is the addition of four AESA radars around the turret, which are likely multi-purpose radars to detect both ground and air targets, judging from the fact that the system can also use SUNGUR. KARAKURT EO/IR system has been replaced with a gimbal EO/IR system, which likely has higher performance.
Compared to Kaplan STA with the KMC-U missile launcher, PUSU presents a more mobile and low cost option with a platform that is widespread.
